I just picked up my 2022 Subaru Outback from a paint and body shop. the left fender and front bumper cover were replaced and painted. When I looked over the repair job I noticed that there was silver paint on the black part of the bumper cover where I believe is where it was masked with tape since the upper part of bumper cover was painted silver. they advised me that they could remove the excess paint. I'm somewhat skeptical since the bumper cover is one whole piece, but I know nothing about paint and body work. is it possible to remove the excess paint? Was this a hard paint job to do or is it poor workmanship? I would greatly appreciate your professional opinion.
Thank you

I've seen better masking jobs but, that said, getting a perfectly straight line on a job like that can be difficult, especially if using wider tape that won't wrap as tight around the curves, like they appear to have used.

If they say they can fix it then let them do that and make a final judgement afterwards.

I would be more worried about how the Hood sits when its opened in that first pic!
It shouldn't sit like that if everything is squared up properly should be level.

Umm, that's the "before" (repair) shot, Dennis.

the masker needs to GO BACK to masking school. this could have been avoided by using some narrow masking tape or fine line 1/4" or so then your regular masking. can't imagine that coming from a reputable shop. but yes let them try and fix it. PLEASE let us know how it comes out. it will be interesting, as it looks like a difficult fix now to look oem.
