So I had my 1975 Scout stolen, they damaged the back and front hood on a complete paint job I did. My original process was bare metal 2k primed urethane base and 5 coats of clear.
They basically took paint off to the primer it two long stretches about 20 inches long. How would you guys repair this? I have no experience doing resprays as I've only ever painted a whole vehicle. Suggestions and thanks for the help. Sorry I don't have pics the truck is in a location I'm not at currently.

If there isn't any metal damage, dents, etc., just feather out the scratches, with a DA. If they are that long, I'd start with 120 grit, and finish with 180 or 220. Hand block with a finer paper, and primer the bare areas, extending onto the feathered areas. Block again when cured, and repaint primer area, blending it onto the undamaged areas. Clearcoat the entire panel.
