Hi Guys,

Quick one.....how long is a gal. of SS paint "good" for once opened and sealed up again? I have a matt/semi gloss job coming up that will take a bit more than a quart so I am thinking of just getting a gal. so I have it on hand for future jobs. Wondering if I seal it up well and keep it at a constant temp, how long will it be good for. I'm sure I will use it up within a year but have never "stored" paint before. Would the same rules apply for base?

Which single stage?
lacquer, enamel or urethane?
I know urethanes last for years.

I've had urethanes for years that were still good.
It's the activator that doesn't last.

Some have filled their half full activator with marbles to
displace the air to make it last longer.
Don't laugh, it works.

A trick I use with POR-15, can be used with activator. Use your MIG welder, disable the wire feed, and shoot Argon into the can, close quickly.
