Just painted a hood with Rustoleum enamel and all looks good except in the middle there are areas that look like paint was drying before it got to hood or it's overspray.
How long should I wait to try and sand and buff out??

1. Poor technique - gun too far from panel or tilted; or,
2. Incorrect reducer - are you still using acetone. It's way too fast for enamel which should lay down quite flat with the correct reducer.

What does the TDS say?

Note: rest of car came out nice, no problems

Says thin with Acetone. I also called them and was told the same, and not use mineral spirits

Must be operator error then.

Seriously, I use enamel for ute trays because it's cheap and the air dry stuff is fast. There are two types, one that uses Turps as a thinner, the other uses standard thinner. If I use a fast thinner I get a dry finish. Need to use a slower thinner and put it on nice and wet. Sometimes in the middle of a tray, just like the middle of a bonnet, that's a bit of a reach and hard to keep the gun perpendicular to the surface, plus, if you didn't start on one side the paint may start to dry and overspray won't melt in.
