Hmmm, yes. WoW means letting the epoxy flash before applying base coat. All the epoxies I've ever used need 20 minutes or so of flash time. After that they can be sprayed over, without sanding/scuffing for 24 hours to a week, depending.

I don't think I'd like to spray base over epoxy while the epoxy is still wet. :flatten:

Spraying over any primer while still wet guarantees a lot more shrinkage
in the final paint. The biggest reason for paint failures is rushing the products.

On clean freshly Blasted metal, Spray Epoxy then do not let it dry immediately start spraying your single stage, easy.
BUT if Epoxy flashes and you don't get a good wet on wet disaster strikes! and Single stage wont adhere to the epoxy ask me how I know.

I would still allow epoxy to dry and scuff it before single stage.

I have ran into adhesion problems with Base coat over fresh epoxy well within re-coat window when trying to do what I considered a wet on wet, That's why I said that.

I have done as I explained wet on wet with good results the Flash time was how ever long it took me to wash out my gun and mix the Base coat and start spraying again I should have said or added that (probably 15-20 min.)

Thanks for jumping on me though, I am glad you all corrected me! I don't wish to put forth incorrect info just passing along my failur experience.

Thx for all your help with this inquiry of mine. I ended up finding Omni products at a local supplier. 2:1 epoxy with a 2K single stage gloss black. Primer TDS said 1 hour to topcoat. This made the job real easy and I was done shooting all in one afternoon. The main function for the finish is rust prevention and I think epoxy primer is about the best for adhesion and durability.
