Just got my truck back from the body shop. Cost was $3400 to fix and paint the fender. Body man tells me he won't repaint it "because he'll have to buy another Z71 sticker" . Says he will sand it down and buff it out. Is this right? Thanks |
Well, that is what you do with sags/curtains/runs. Give him a chance. Kinda' sloppy work though in that price range....

Wow!
I know I don't charge enough for my work but $3400 for a fender? What am I missing here? The sag is no big deal to fix, unless you sand through the clear. 1968 Coronet R/T

as long as there is enough clear after cutting and buffing,

Yes, insurance |
i would use that in your favor and tell the insurance company your cut and buffed panel does not and will not match the rest of the vehicle. Experienced Trained Certified

I'll be surprised if it didn't pull the metalic down with it, check this after he hits it with the buffer. for that amount of money the sticker is Pennys.
