i've shot gallons of lacquer like JC says back in the late 60s and 70s this was it. depending on what you want to do. i would put 4-5 more wet coats on then cut and buff. lacquer cuts easy wet, buffs really easy and by cutting it flat it produces an excellent hi-gloss finish. you'll have to plan on letting it set for at least 3-4 weeks before you buff. lacquer shrinks back a lot for quite some time.JCCLARK wrote:Back in the 70's when I used lacquer exclusively,
We sanded it with 600 and buffed it out from there.
Can't do that with todays urethanes.
