2017 Toyota code 070. Need to paint a tow hook cap about 2 inches square. I usually go to a paint shop that puts the paint into a spray can for about $20. When I asked about this color, they said it would be $125 and 2 cans. Isn't there some alternative cheaper option? It doesn't have to be perfect as it's missing the cap now. I can buy a touch up bottle from the dealer for $10 but don't wan't to go that far below perfect.

Pearls are usually tri-stage paints. You have a basic white first coat and then a follow up coat that contains the pearl. This second stage is where you will determine a color match to the surrounding paint by the number of coats applied. Once that is done a clear coat is applied, hence the tri-stage designation.
There may be some variations but none of them are going to be cheap. Since it's only a hitch cover you might be able to find a rattle can paint that matches close enough. 1968 Coronet R/T

Picked up a can for $15. Turned out good enough. Took a dozen coats it was so thin.

Ssshhhh, don't tell Toyota. Imagine how much money they could save if they found out that a 3 layer white pearl could be done in a single layer.
