I had the dreaded pealing paint on both doors of my white 2014 Silverado pickup. I had a Detail guy sand and paint the areas. They look ok but are very rough like sand paper. He said that after 6 weeks I could use rubbing compound on the area. Will this smooth out the paint or will I need to do something else?

Please post some pictures. It's hard to give advice when you cannot see the issues.

Thanks but pictures will not show anything, the issue is a feel/texture thing. When I run my hand over the repaired area it is rough instead of smooth.

It probably will need to be sanded smooth and then buffed out,
Hope you have enough clear coat to do that.

Hopefully, he put enough clear on it to sand and buff, and did NOT use spray cans! I would think a detail guy would know better! He should be able to do paint correction in his business!

Thanks for the advice, the detail guy is the one who said I could use rubbing compound or wet sand. I didn't think to ask about the clear coat. He is not local and was only in my area for a short time. I think I'll do the compound and hope it helps then live with it. I don't want to chance taking the paint off again.
