Hello everyone, I think I made a mistake when I chemically stripped my car with a gel stripper. When I was using the stripper it ran off on to the ground effects bracket that is welded to the rocker panel. It looks like the zinc has been stripped off along with the paint. The hard part is getting the new primer to seep down into the crevice between the ground effects bracket and rocker panel. What materials should I use as I don’t want rust to break out especially in the drain holes, I was thinking maybe an etch primer and fill the cavity with wax after painting . I would greatly appreciate some help

Epoxy primer is the best protection for bare metal. I can be applied with a brush in difficult to reach places. Try to scratch exposed surfaces with 80 grit for best adhesion.

:goodpost: THIS^^^ try and use a real soft bristle brush, if the bristles are to stiff they will leave tracks ( BARE AREAS) in the newly applied epoxy. i like to apply two coat so to get good coverage. you can pump the epoxy down in that crack area with the brush.

Just be very sure that you get all traces of the paint stripper out of the area, or paint will never cure there.
