Hello I have a 1938 Oldsmobile business coupe that I painted 8 years ago single stage ********** inc. Black the paint was made in 1999 and in the sun it’s a brown black and the newer stuff they make are a black and black in the sun.
I have to much stuff in my shop right now I moved a head board and it moved a book case and it fell into my car.
So I’m afraid in that spot it would be a black black and you will see the repair.
And the next thing is I’ve never done a spot repair there is no body line to goto.
I’ve been told if I try to blend it it may last a month before it haloes around the blended edges.
Here is a pic of it.
Can anyone help please. Thank you kelly

Most paint manufacturers still carry the older brown toned black as well as the newer bluer toned black and the even newer black toned black. So colour should not be a problem. However, you should still get it properly matched since blacks do vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. Take the car, or a removable small panel to your paint distributor and get them to spectro it and colour match properly.

Even I wouldn't dream of doing a spot repair in such a visible location. Unfortunately that's going to need repainting the whole roof and the two quarters, at least.

Thank you that’s what I was afraid of no body line to break it up.
Looks like I’m going to have to repaint the whole car

Since most of the body would be repainted to fix it might as well do the rest of the body
