Hi everyone,
i think i know the answer but want to double check. i have a conversion van where the company sprayed a different color over the factory color. it had some clear coat failure, i've sanded this down with 240 grit then 320 grit and i'm at the factory base coat.
i think i should spray primer surfacer on this area and block before base coat? or can i spray epoxy sealer and then base coat?
thanks

You've most likely made a low spot there, its going to be very visible where its at on that flat panel. i would apply a couple good wet coats of a high build primer with good flash times between coats. the guide coat and block with a long board and some 180. you may need additional coats of the high build to get it flat.
Another thing you might try is to feather it out better. see those color change areas where you sanded, those need to stretch out an 1 1/2 - 2 inches each. bring the one edge next to the widow right over to the widow opening. try using the 320 and flatten that edge out. Also, remember to clear the entire panel. Blending clear into old clear isn't a good idea in my opinion.
