Ok so here the deal....I downloaded the Ebook on basics and to be honest it was a little long winded for me so i was wondering if one of you old pro's could post a short outline or a link to the steps to painting heres what i know so far...

1. Sand off old paint and do any body work

2. prime

3. sand primer (unsure about grit)

4. Basecoat

5.(i think there is some sort of sanding you do here but have no idea of grit or when to do it)

6.Clearcoat

7.buff out (not sure what i need to do this or how)

Also i was wondering if you guys could shed some light on the proper techniques to use when painting.(like how far to hold the gun away from the car and how to paint curvey parts)

thanks

I'm no old pro, but your on the right track. A sealer may be required after the sandable primer depending on what product you use. Also you don't sand the basecoat.

I have always heard to hold the gun 8-10" from the surface. No matter what part, make sure the fan is perpendicular to the surface your painting.
