Hello to all of you body and paint gurus,
I am working on a rod and have come to the body and paint stage. I have never done body and paint but want to try, wanted to have the truck dipped and stripped. The stripper told me they would put the anti rust on it after stripping.
Now the real question, I know the outside of the body will be cleaned and primered the painted, what suggestions can all of you make to be put on the underside of the body panels to keep them from starting down the rust path again.

Coating the inside of panels is important as the outside. Use epoxy
primer and a coat of paint..this can be even good quality spray paint. Us body guys always use left over acrylic enamel from other jobs. Let it dry a day or so then use a rubberized PAINTABLE undercoat. I like Dynatrons paintable undercoat. Dynatron is a division of the Bondo company. It's a little expensive.. about $5.00 a can but well worth it. |
