See pic below. While trying to close the gap between the deck filler panel and trunk lid (new AMD lid), I caused some big oil canning spots (outlined in red). The larger area has two spots in which I can push down easily, and it causes the opposite spot to"pop".

You can see I lightly sanded the lid to bring out the high spots. My dilemma is the underside of the lid has the structured bottom piece, so I can get behind it with a hammer and dolly.

1) Should I try a shrinking disc first? If so, do I run it across the entire area or just the high spots?
2) Will I need to use a hammer and dolly on the low spots or will shrinking the high spots do the trick?

Thoughts? Thanks...

What did you do to it to close the Gap That caused the Oil can?

Need to know exactly what you did, Just blindly going at it can and will do more harm than good. Oil cans are one of the hardest repairs.
