So i ordered a rear clip for a del sol, as my rear half is pretty bad and rusted etc;
I plan on reinforcing the entire welded area to keep it safe, the great thing about the del sol clip is that its just the lower area as the roof is removable so its a pretty simple job
My primary concern is alignment, i would imagine if done improperly could basically ruin the entire car as if we cut too much or too little etc; having the car a little shorter or a little longer
Are there any tips or tricks on welding the clip

Take a datum line on an easily measured place on both old and new (i.e. From rear 24" or body line) Find a nice place that a line could be drawn (real or imaginary) measure from there to the place you think you need to cut, and measure the same cut on the other piece. Might be easyest to do this on the new clip and then mark the same on the old. That way the cut will be on same place on old and new.
