I want to increase the size of the hole from the trunk thru the passenger seat(when it's folded down). Is it possible to just use a saw or should you put some metal bars to help keep car stability?
I have 2000 Solara.

Regardless of what you have if you remove metal you are taking away from the vehicle structure.
Impossible to say what would happen but I would assume if the manufacturer didn't need the material they would have saved some money and mass and removed! |

Modifying cars has been around since day one.
Can the metal be removed Ya it can yes a Small Die Grinder and metal cutting blades are all you need. Does it need to be reinforced after words? Most probably be a good idea any way . Need to see a picture of what you got and see what you wanna do then see what can be done to reinforce whats left. Dennis B.
