i've been practicing welding so i can shave my door handles. i have been slowly tacking all the way around so i don't warp the metal but, i think my tacks look like crap. can anybody give me some suggestion to make them look better? hopefully the picture is clear enough for everybody to see. thanks in advance for any help!!

They look normal to me. Just be careful when grinding or the heat from the grinder will worp the metal as well.

thanks horsepower. i guess i just didn't have any confidence in my work. speaking of grinding, when i grind do i need to grind the welds completely smooth or is the bondo used for that?

well, the welds have to be below the bondo. so it is a judgement call. if all you work is done good then you should need very little bondo.I try to make mine as smooth as possible but you may not need to. just as long as the bondo covers them.
