Why foam pads?

Discuss anything after that final masking comes off.

Hi, new guy here. This is a REALLY neat place. Glad I found it. Let me preface my question by saying I have painted several cars years ago (before foam pads). Anyway, are they better than wool and second, do you use compound on them like you do on wool?

And I always thought lacquer thinner Was perfume. Isn't it?

Foam is soft and flexable so you can apply very even pressure to the whole area of the pad. Just another example of technology in action.
