Clay bar substitute

I have seen the marvel that clay bars do. My question is I have a block of oil based, non drying sculpture clay, can I use this for the same purpose?

I'm not 100% sure on this but I think the autobody clays are a lot different from that stuff. For as cheap as you can buy clay bars I don't think I would take the chance.
