Hey guys,
I need some help. I am painting aftermarket body kit parts for Ford Mustangs. I have a makeshift booth that I get dirt nibs in my jobs no matter what I do.
If I wetsand with 1500, 3000, 5000 then buff the parts come out perfect. The problem is that there is ZERO orange peel, its a perfect mirror finish which does not match the oem texture.
I tried wetsanding with 2000, 3000, 5000 and still the same problem, parts smooth as a mirror when they are done.
When i wetsand with 1500 or 2000, I do it so there is no shiny spots.
How can I do complete panel wetsand and buff, but keep the OEM texture?
I'm using a Fuji Turbine Q5 with .8mm tip.
Need help with texture matching with wetsanding buffing.

You might also try and move up to the next tip size with that Fuji unit. This should make the orange peel a little more "pronounced," then follow Dave's steps.....
