Cleaning Car With Shea Butter Soap?

I have heard dish soap is terrible for car paint as it has a degreasing element, but has anyone used your simple handy bar of soap in a bucket? Before I wash my car I have a ton of bars lying around that are simply made of shea butter, I don't see how that would damage the paint as the stuff is light as air. I reapply wax after every major wash, and the bars are cheap as anything.

Most all soaps will remove the wax.
If you want your wax to last and you want a gentle detergent, use car wash detergent, the kind you buy at Wal-Mart made for washing cars. I have washed my own car with Dawn dish detergent for many years and haven't noticed any problems. It's about as harsh as you can get. The newer clearcoats can take it. JC.
