Discuss anything after that final masking comes off.

I'm getting some patches of white specks in my black 2k urethane when I flatten down orange peel with 1000, 2000 and 3000 grit.

I thought it was sand through so went to the trouble of repainting a rear quarter.

I found another area with the same issue, so I thought I'd find out if it was primer I'm seeing or not and after a whack with some 600 grit it was gone.

What is it?

Looks a lot like some type of contamination that is causing fisheye down through the color into the primer. Like the primer might have had some contamination on it before you hit it with your 2k color. How are you set for moisture/oil filtering from your compressor? I had a similar thing happen at one time and it was my large compressor blowing oil past its' rings as it was beginning to fail over time.

I have separator and dryer after compressor and filter on the gun handle.

I had a patch about 2x1 inches on the roof and they sanded out... weird?!

The primer was shot on (reduced epoxy) and not touched with anything before topcoat.

I'm gonna hit it with some 800 see if it comes out.

Would this be caused by paint going on too heavy and solvent pop not getting to The surface therefore trapped underneath and getting exposed as I buff down?

Yes, it can. Generally from too fast a reducer or not enough flash time between coats.

Yep, solvent pop would have been my only other thoughts if you've got no contamination problems.....Coronet hit it right.....

Well after a nights work the whole rear quarter has this speckling in numerous different patches. Probably shoot some more paint on and blend it up to the roof.

Btw if I sanded enough it would go away but I'm rolling a dice with going through.

Might consider lightly sanding and shooting some clear coat. No blending necessary.
Just a thought.
