Cutting finsh wet or dry?

Just picked up a 6" D.A.I need to knock down some orange peal.Should I do it dry or with some soapy water 1000/1500/2000 grit.thanks,tom south florida.

For a show car finish I like to use 1000 on a hard block (oak) to get everything flat and remove all the orange peel, then move up to 1500, 2000 and buff.
A panel that looks good can be done with a DA dry. Be sure to use a soft interface pad on the DA and keep your RPMs down to prevent pigtails. If you have a lot of orange peel start with the 1000 but if only a moderate amount use the 1500. Wear a dust mask and have microfiber towel handy to wipe and check your work. Remember to use caution near body lines and edges. You want the DA rotating "off" the edge and not into it. 1968 Coronet R/T
