So I was looking online to order a Twisted Wool Pad to try with Mequaire's M100 as recommended in previous post. I went to Lake Countrie's website to see what they offered and found there are a few different version as seen in the image below.

So my questions are:

1) What's the difference between streamed and un-steamed? And what is the right one to order?

2) Also, Is there a recommended thickness to get?

What pad should I order to use with the M100 as part of the initial cut and buff process. I plan to try and correct some pigtails I created while DAing the clear on my Mustang last fall. I'll be using it on a Makita 7" rotary buffer with hook and loop.

Thanks in advance ~ Lenny B.

Well, I am fairly sure that Lake Country is one of just a handful of twisted wool makers that even offers a choice. This is what they say about the differences.... https://www.lakecountrymfg.com/files/te ... s-1606.pdf
I've never tried the steamed pads because well, I want my twisted wool to be more "aggressive." Same kind of goes with thickness....I prefer the mid pad thickness. With a mid thickness pad I can still spur the crap out of the wool without reducing thickness too fast with wear. I think a lot of the twisted wool choice is just experimenting somewhat and getting happy with consistent results.

Just make sure for initial cutting you get a "cutting" pad,
Some are for polishing and make cutting twice as long and hard.
I grabbed the wrong one yesterday and could really tell the difference.
