I just painted half a car in my garage, i already cut and buffed. I used 1200 then finished with 1500. I know a lot of people people would say i should finish with a higher grit. For those of you who do finish with a higher grit, what is your cutting process for a fresh paint job? Id like to do what works best. If your interested ill include the link to my youtube video of me buffing the garage paint job, and doing some plastic repair.

There are lots of techniques already outlined in this section.
Different people use different materials and methods for the most part. A lot depends upon the desired finish. Is it a show car, driver, a doesn't matter or who cares as long as it's painted vehicle? 1968 Coronet R/T

I want the closest to oem I can get, I’m not a professional painter by any means so cutting and buffing will have to do for now. I just want to know the products and methods used by others on this forum.

Wow that looks amazing. What kind of clear do you use? Im guessing you dont even need to cut and buff that.

Those are cut and buffed.
These are straight off the gun but they don't all turn out this good: I use high solids clear in a couple of different lines. Tamco Glamour Clear being one of them. 1968 Coronet R/T
