First off, hello, I am brand new to this board.
So I did a little touch up job, the paint and clear turned out really nice, but when I try wet sanding the tape line, the line turns bright white. Really confused and would appreciate anyone's experience here. Thanks![

Figured it out, I was actually going through the clear, the base then to the primer, if I keep sanding it gets to the original paint.
I am going to repaint and I'll have to do the whole panel because I don't know how to blend the tape line.... |
The issue is not so much how to get rid of the tape line but, rather, how not to put it there in the first place.
Hard tape lines, too close to the repair and painting all the way to the tape are always going to result in the problem you've had. Quite a few examples in this forum of others who've done the same, so no need to feel lonely. A couple of links that might help: https://www.autobody101.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=24999&p=187441&hilit=tape+lines#p187441 https://www.autobody101.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=27540&hilit=tape+lines&start=10 These videos are also quite good (he also has some on doing bar blends): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yS8HRp6FtZQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kI7DQ4IEIlU Chris
