Can anyone tell me why a buffing/cutting compound would leave behind micro dots of compound in the clear coat? the finsh looks great but I can't get the micro pieces of compound out of my clear! Im using Meguires 1 Glaze Medium-cut cleaner and 9 swirl remover 2.0. the issue is with the level 1 medium-cut. I have a deep gloss black panel and its leaving behind orange micro dots.

Are you sure those aren't little pits in the clear
filled with compound?
If they are only on the surface, they should buff off.

I don’t think so. After I hit the clear with 3000, it looks perfect. But it could be possible. What would cause clear coat to have micro pits you can’t see until after buffing?

You can get pin holes for a lot of different reasons.
I got them once when painting while it was to cold and I
put to much clear on the first coat.
They were everywhere.
Some painters will fill them with a drop of clear and sand flush
then buff it out. Works good if there aren't to many.
Usually they are caused by trapped solvents, the top layer dries to fast and the
solvents underneath pop through.
