I'll be getting ready to shoot my race car in a few months. It is going to be gloss black.

Trying to keep this one simple so I want to just do a single stage. And rather than dealing with all the mess of putting up plastic and paper and shooting in the garage, I'm thinking of just doing it in the driveway. It's a racecar so not trying to get things perfect.

I'm thinking of something like this:

Does this stuff cut and buff? Depending on how much trash I get in it, I may want to buff that stuff out.

I cut and buffed my last paint job (base and clear). It worked out really nice. Also curious how the process of cutting and buffing a single stage compares to dealing with a clear coat.

Thanks,
Sal

Yes, you can cut it and buff. Just remember that it goes on a bit thinner than clear, so you need to be a bit more careful - very easy to cut through.

I have a friend (the great Bondoking) that would pull the car out at first light,
while dew was still on the grass,
and he would get really clean paint jobs with no overspray.
