I sprayed 4 coats of universal clear on my truck. I got some orange peel and plan to wet block sand with 800 followed by 1200 then 1500. My question is is 800 grit too coarse to start? thanks

I would use 1000 grit and a hard block.

Mine is a piece of Oak about 3/4" thick, 1 1/2" wide and 5" long. I work a 12"x 12" section at a time until flat and no shiny spots showing.

Keep a spray bottle of water and a microfiber towel handy, to clean the area and check your progress.

Yeah, if you've got to go under 1000 I'd try to lay down a coat a little better. Same here.... I like hard blocking at 1000 for first go around. Usually, if I've got things fairly flattened at that point I move up with hard rubber blocks and into softer rubber blocks as I get into the higher grits.
