Hi all,
Newbie here.
Painted my car a couple months ago. Used Dupont Centauri with metallic.
Got a couple sags and a few dust bunnies and orange peel. Biggest problem was a **** mosquito was in the paint bay somewhere and wouldnt you know it found the most conspicuous place to die!
Right on the passenger door.
Well, sanded the bug out and color sanded the whole car.
Lots of posts say if you do this, you'll need to repaint.
Havent buffed it yet but when is wet, it looks really good.
I am concerned though...Once its buffed out, if it looks like crap...whats the fix?
Repaint or can a light color coat repair the metallic?

Yes that is how I would fix it. but after it's buffed you will have to sand it down again with 600-1000 grit before you repaint. |

Horsepower, Thanks for the response. That's what I expected.
We'll see how it goes...buffing it tonight. |

Hope you dont mind my asking a question on this just trying to avoid mistakes since I will be shooting metallic Chromabase soon!
What kind of paint job was this, bc/cc or single stage? Im a lil confused since you made no mention of CC and Ive been reading ur not supposed to sand BC esp if its metallic. TIA! |
This is on single stage paint. BC/CC can be wet sanded and buffed. |
