I just acquired a variable speed buffer, and I want to polish my wifes car. Of course, I am going to start on my daily driver to insure my techniques work. I know nothing about body work, except I know wax puts on a coating. Before polishing her car, should I use a "grease/wax remover"? Any other surface preps? Once I have the surface ready, what is the best compund to use for least damage and best results? I know the better results risk more damage, but is there a simple "one" compound that will do the trick? Also, After the finish is polished to my satisfaction, do I need to apply wax? and how many coats for good protection? Any help will be greatly appreciated!
