Where would you cut/weld this quarter?

Hi guys, new member here and needing some guidance... this will be my second attempt at replacing this rusted section on my 69 Buick. I’m using a partial quarter repair panel that looks like this:

(actually this is an image of the drivers side repair panel which I had a pic of on my phone but you get the idea).
My first attempt didn’t turn out as well as I would have liked ; lots of warping in the repair and the “above the wheel well area” was too flat and didn’t have enough crown which would have required excessive dolly work and too much filler.
My question is how high and far length wise should I cut on the existing body to ensure proper body curvature and minimize hammer/dolly work when done welding? I’ve read you should replace as little metal as is possible when doing body work...
Note; I’m using a 120v Lincoln welder with gas and .23 wire, metal in repair area is rust free and clean.
Thanks

Sorry no one found and posted a reply to your thread, It probably would get more views and replies in the Metal Fab forum.

I am a firm believer in only replacing as much metal as needs be for sure.
So we are both on same page there but Why dont you try posting this thread in the correct forum?
