What about a google map or the like that gives a list of locations of our members (either via their Location entries in their profiles, or make it user editable). May make it easier for people to find local assistance from board members.

Thoughts?

Yep, I agree.
The option to show your city and state is already available and many folks enjoy their anonymity choosing not to list theirs. Trying to force the issue would only be met with resistance or false information being provided.

By the way I used to live in Rochester, NY many years ago. Worked at Eastman Kodak for a while fresh out of high school.

Ah see, I'm not looking to force anything.

The thought is actually if you choose to list your city/state - then it automatically populates a map. Nothing more.

This way you have an easy way to find someone local instead of having to post up a thread and hope someone replies. If you don't list your city/state - you don't end up the on the map and you can play internet ninja!

I've lived here all 31 years I've been alive. I spent four years down in Tampa FL for college and I still came back. I love it here.
