I agree, that's my sore arms talking. :whoops:
I tend to forget, the main reason I'm doing this is the fiberglass one (I bought) fit so poorly.

My shoes are so filled with dust they are banished from the house.
Lucky I'm not sitting out in the cold with them.

I dry sanded the black primer off the bumper, what a mess.
When I was younger and did something like this, I wouldn't bother with a dust mask.
Amazed I'm still alive, sometimes. :knockout:
This was white when I started sanding.

amazing isn't it. good pic to save to show some of the "youngsters" out there why to were a good particle mask while sanding, and a better resperator while painting. Gotta love the junk that comes outta your nose once you hop in the shower. lol!. if you don't have one. now time to invest in a da. would of saved yah tons of time and frustration. good tool to have.

Boy, the cold weather and holidays sure make it hard to make any progress.

Trying to get back on track, and hope to prime the front bumper this week.

I finished hooking up two 3000 watt baseboard heaters, and am borrowing a propane "bottle" heater for the winter. Combined they should give me enough heat to do some spraying.

I also had some problems with spitting water toward the end of priming my hood, so I got to work on an inline dryer.
Bought this desiccant filter on Ebay for $100, and it looks pretty good.

I set out to copy this setup that one of you guy's posted a link to.

This is at the end of about a 30 foot copper line, and I extended the half-inch pipe down into a one inch-pipe for the preliminary water trap. Left the regulator back on the compressor for now as it still controls the pressure on three other runs in my shop.

We will see how it all works soon, I hope.

It's funny, I see guy's on other sites claiming all you need is a cheap HF spray gun and a roll around compressor to spray a car.
I'm afraid to add up the cost of all the equipment I've had to buy, just to get this far.

yeah you can also do the infamous 50 rustoleum paint job too. but it's how the end results are gonna look and hold up is the issue. Just give in, the Bug has bitten you! lol

Neat setup. How many feet of line are you off of the compressor to the filters? Hope its a minimum of 30 ft.
Never argue with an idiot, he will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.

The compressor is down in the basement and supplies two runs in my shop, and one run out to the garage (about 30 feet) that has the new water filter at the end. All are copper pipe and tied together, so there is a lot of pipe to dissipate the heat.

I know I have seen this car on the net before.........

Since you are removing ground effects kit have you thought about selling it? if so I would be interested in it???? be a way to recoup some of your costs in repainting.

I've been over at the CorvetteForum for about ten years, but haven't spent much time there lately.

Unfortunately the GreenWood body parts, old hood & rear bumper went in the dumpster.
Just to much trouble & expense to pack & ship, for what people want to pay for them.

Did save the rear spoiler because I was told by GreenWood that they only sold two that style, most people wanted the big wing.
May put it up for sale someday.

Also going to pull off the rear GS fender flares, and probably post them up for sale.
They go for a little bit of $$$$, and easy to ship.

Shipping cost are just terrible lately....
I paid more to ship the hood I bought, than the hood cost
