Im having a hard time trying to find a local body shop place in my area that carries PPG paints, and my online search hasnt been much better.
Can anybody provide me with a place online where I can order my PPG Paint and supplies?
Thanks!
Where to get PPG paint online

I've been looking online @ paint supplies and stuff pretty heavy for the last couple of months. I've yet to see anyone who carries PPG, or Dupont for that matter. You can get House of Kolor all over the place. Many carry their line of Shimrin stuff. Is there a specific reason for PPG? Cause HOK paints are supposed to be good. If you need a color matched mixed paint, the only ones I know where to get online are Matrix and RM-Diamont. Autobodysupply.net carries those and some HOK stuff. Crash supply also carries HOK stuff. As for PPG/Dupont, I wonder if they have policies and/or requirements of jobbers that prevent the online sales?? Just a guess though, I've no idea why. Seems like someone should offer it. If anyone else knows of a place, I'd be interested to see know also. My local jobber carries some PPG, but no Omni. Good luck.

Thanks 240shorty, I think your right about the regulation part not selling online. It may also be because they dont want backyard autobody people like us spraying that junk in the atmosphere. Figure a bodyshop has regulations and spray booths that help control what escapes into the air.
I was going with PPG because I hear there Omni line is pretty good for the price. Its user friendly for a beginner also. Maybe I will have to look into the HOK paint, since that is ready available. Thanks |

If you were looking at Omni, you might find HOK prices to be a little higher, since if is Valspar's premier line. The regular Valspar stuff would probably be cheaper than Omni in price. That's usually carried by NAPA auto stores. The Matrix BC/CC that I am currently using and just sprayed with today seems to be alright so far. That ran about $240 shipped for a gallon mixed base and a gallon clear with activator. For my Mustang, I'm looking into maybe doing a HOK Base and maybe save a little cash with some 5 star clear. I know Reckon has stated that the 5 star products are of good quality and underrated and underpriced. And they are available online like at crashsupply and whatnot. It is of course up to you. Just trying to say, there are a few options when it comes to buying online.

PPG did in fact make a move to ban Internet Sales fo Paints and at about that same time so did DuPont. Try to find DuPont paints online. There are not many PPG Dealers online.
PPG http://www.autocolorlibrary.com/cmg/cmg.html For other considerations: Valspar http://www.autopaintdirect.com/ HOK at SprayGun World - BEST PRICES have seen - I buy from them. http://search.cartserver.com/search/sea ... ywords=HOK ********** http://www.bakerpbe.com/ Rubber Seal - contact them for a purchase http://www.rubber-seal.com/ MATRIX or BASF's R*M or HOK online: http://www.autobodysupply.net/ KIRKER or American Finishes or HOK http://www.smartshoppersinc.com/ It is probably best to find a local jobber especially for the base coats. A friend of mine from work just bought 3 gallons of the Kirker Single Stage Urethane in a metallic against my advice. I have no doubt Kirker is a decent paint but am against the Metallic with Single Stage. 3 gallons. Since it is such a low price he bought enough to practice with and some people will just not listen. Blah blah blah. Later, Don |

Thanks a ton D71, these are some great links.
Do you think there is much of a difference in shine between single stage and 2K paints? Theres a significant cost going single stage, but im not sure how well it will hold up and or shine? |
