I had my car just about finished when I thought I should add a little more clear coat, well the material ended up with in my gun was "mat" clear coat. Did about a third of the car. Do I have to sand it all down, or is there some other method to correct my mistake.

If you are still in the re-coat window then apply another two or more coats of the gloss clear.
If you are out of the re-coat window you will need to scuff the clear with a Gray Scotch pad until dull or wet sand with 800 grit just until dull and then shoot more clear. 1968 Coronet R/T

Thank you very much. I'm still in the clear coat mode. I was thinking I'd have to sand away all traces of the mat first. Glad I asked. Thanks again.
That's not the only question I have, I'll be back. Have a good, safe day. |
