clear coat scratches

I'm new to the forum. I apologize for the question, as I am sure it is answered in archives, but I could not find an answer on a brief search. I bought a new CRV in basque red a month ago after my 2003 Accord began to fail. We have a cat who lives in the garage and office, unable to get along with those in house. Getting rid of her is not an option. She jumped on the Accord and just began to do so on the CRV. Clear coat scratches on the hood are evident in sunlight. I think I need a stiff drink but also a wax to make the scratches less evident. I want just a wax, no cleanser or microabrasive. Are there rational preferences or should I just go to my auto supply store and get a product labeled wax only? Thank you.

Getting rid of the cat is always an option and dont ever rule it out.

Thanks, I got the super hard shell. The cat's response is unprintable.
