The front grille and housing had a few dents in them:
Disassembled:
Stripped the majority of the old paint and put two coats of epoxy primer on, then started working on the dents.
First pic is of the top side of the dent:
Second pic is the bottom side:
After some hammer and dolly work and a little filler:
The Grille insert was a bit of a challenge. The first pic shows the left side with a straight edge on it:
This was the right side in the same area:
You can see by the build primer that I didn't catch that bend when fixing the dents and dings.
Took some doing but got it straightened. Sprayed three coats of base tonight, will spray the clear tomorrow.

Fenders in epoxy:
Fenders in 2k this is three coats for first round of blocking. Gave them another 3 coats and blocked again before base went on: Fenders cleared: I haven't buffed anything yet and will probably wait until the truck is reassembled before doing so. 1968 Coronet R/T

I confess that I have not had much desire to work on this truck lately. So just now getting around to the working on the bed.
This thing was covered and sculpted when I got it in. Amazing what they covered with filler: I cut that section out and welded in a patch. Sorry but I forgot to take pictures of patch. Shot two coats of black epoxy primer. Applied filler to some of the many obvious dents and problem areas, then shot two coats of Polyester Primer. This is Featherfill G2: Guide coated and then began block sanding with 80 grit until the black epoxy starts showing. In some cases that got me to the filler. I circle the low spots with a pencil so I can find them after I sand the areas that need filler. These areas will get skimmed with filler and block sanded. Then I plan to shoot two more coats of poly primer, guide coat and block sand it all again. After that I will move to regular 2k primer for the finish blocking session. 1968 Coronet R/T

Here is the second round of Poly Primer.
Things are starting to shape up. Guide coated and blocked again. Removed the front of the bed in order to gain access to some flaking paint. Shot 2 coat of Tamco DTM primer. Plan to guide coat and block, then guide coat and wet sand for paint. 1968 Coronet R/T

Looks really nice.

Thanks!
I like to use guide coat when wet sanding. Here's an example of why. The first picture shows some progress sanding with p600: Second picture reveals more sanding to be done since there are still some deeper (p320) scratches left: 1968 Coronet R/T

Believe or not, I actually ended up doing more work to the bed sides to get them straight. I thought they looked pretty good and then I wipe them down a wet rag and notice just a little bit of wave in a couple of places.
Hope to shoot color and clear on the bed sides tomorrow. Began inspecting the back of the cab a little closer and found two trouble spots. First is a lousy patch job to the lower right corner. Picture doesn't really show how deep it is but there was nearly a 1/4" of filler in the void. On the other corner they just did the old "cave and pave" method. I'll be fixing both these areas once I finish the bed. 1968 Coronet R/T
