I am trying to open a body shop located in Boulder. When inquiring about what I will be needing to get my building permit to build the paint booth they told me I will be needing a mechanical contractor. I am having trouble finding one that works with paint booths. If anyone in Colorado knows of anyone please let me know. Any help is greatly appreciated

I am not in Colorado nor do I have a commercial permits but I did look into them.

First you need to find Commercial property with Zoning that will allows automotive work not all zoning is the same and Just because its zoned for automotive doesn't mean that Automotive Paint and body work is included!

2nd a Commercial Paint booth this will have to include safety systems that shut down the Fan and Heat when doors are opened / closed and a fire detection and suppression system.
All of which will have to be inspected by and approved by local Fire Marshal, Local Building and Safety, Building All will require installation permits and inspections to make sure all is installed per local codes.

Your local Business lic office should be able to give you more detailed info as well as your local Building and safety office oh and the Fire Marshal as well.

Good luck

Thanks for the heads up! I went to finish master today and they gave me John Bakers number. Good thing he did not answer. The location of my shop is zoned for auto body and paint also I already have everything paint booth included. I just need my permit to be able to start building the booth and get all of the inspections done.
