More sheet metal work done on the 69.

New upper cowl installed,

Image

New one piece trunk floor and drop downs. We also decided to replace the wheel wells.

Image

New floor pan all finished,

Image

New toe boards going in,

Image

Image

Along with the new toe boards we are installing new front body mount braces. As this is a convertible the part isn't available, but if you order parts for a GTO hardtop they are exactly what you need, go figure! The issue is that the convertible has two rubber mounts on each side while the hardtop has only one (same as a Chevelle). The Pontiac apparently has them both so there we go.

Left side all done,

Image

Right side underway,

Image

New 1/4 skins patiently waiting their turn,

Image

Until next time!

Well we got the frame off to get sandblasted and covered with epoxy. All the floors and trunk pans are installed, seams are sealed and two coats of semi gloss black have been applied.

The paint was still wet in these photos which is why it looks shiny.

When the frame gets back from the blasters we'll install the power train, brake and fuel lines and bolt it back together for the last time.
