I have .023,.030,& .035 I like the 30 for sheet metal the 23 Just seams to hot for me using the welders settings as suggested by Miller, I have a hard time with it.

I don't like using the Backing plate heat sink either, Maybe its just me but I don't get the backside to look right?

My problem is I don't do enough of this type of welding to get it dialed in. If I did then I would right down the settings for next time.

I think I will try the larger diameter wire next time. My thought is that the .023 takes too long to feed enough metal into the hole, thus it burns through before completing the weld.

Got the Sway Bar mount brackets and test fitted them to the lower control arms.

The top flange and the bolt hole area lined up and fit great. The lower flange has about an 1/8" space.

Looks like I shouldn't have ground the old welds completely off:

I'll have to lay a bead on the control arm to bridge the gap.

Thanks guys.

Scored some fender mounted turn signals and a padded ashtray front on eBay recently.

Started the process of removing the roof skin. I hope to be able to repair it and reinstall but time will tell if that works out.

Details of progress will be shown if I keep my sanity while drilling out all the spot welds. :splat:

Looks like she may have had a key job at some point:
