I will be watching this one closely. One of my dream cars but they are getting harder to find in decent shape for under $20,000.

That looks like fun! looks very repairable If you are good at metal shaping and welding thin sheet metal.

Now that was Chemically stripped and treated NICE! Your lucky to have a company near by that does that kind of work.
Most places that do this type of work as Part of the final treatment is a Phosphate etch bath as a anti flash rust deal correct?
They didn't mention how to remove the coating before trying to weld on it did they?

The metal treatment I use on panels Has to be cleaned off super clean before I can weld.
This entails a bit more than just Sanding it off I found other wise I sand impurity's into the metal which can cause problems while Tig welding.

The anti flash treatment the company puts on is a water soluble solution, you use warm water to wipe it off, dry the metal then scuff it with at least 150 grit sandpaper. After that we clean it with a product from BASF called Glasurit 360-4 metal cleaner. When this dries it gets epoxy coated and it's all sealed up. After the epoxy is on we start doing any repairs, cutting welding ect. I don't like to leave entire bodies in bare metal while doing repairs so I'll deal with removing epoxy where it's required.

the 69's my favorite too. saw and heard a boss 429 when i was a kid and fell in love. apparently the 429's arent very street friendly (something about head gaskets) so id love a 428. not sure if the 69 was available with a 351 cleveland, but id take one set up with that engine even.

My two uncles got me started. One bought a brand new 1968 Plymouth GTX when he came home from Nam and his brother just had to keep up and bought a brand new 1969 Mach 1 with a 390. Both cars were 4 speeds and being a teenager at the time left a lasting impression.
