Excuse me if I posting this in the wrong place in the forum.
I'm currently building a restomod from a 1999, Ford F150, 157" WB, 4.2L. I'm trying to track down a source for the trucks frame and driveline dimensions. I have a number of old Ford shop manuals which all have the frames in plan and side views with Master Control Holes and Control Holes located but the newer manuals don't have this information. I'm trying to track down where I can get this information. I did find an online subscription service with the information but they don't offer a one off vehicle subscription. I can't justify the cost for a full year subscription. I'm hoping someone here can direct me to a source for the information I need? Sourcing the information will make repairs and modifications needed more reliable. Thank you.

I would think almost any older auto body shop should have them. you must understand that these people are working and most likely won't or don't want to take the time to help you as a freebee. IF you find someone that shows an interest offer to buy him lunch or pay him, you MIGHT get some info . my boy work in a shop and does the main collision repair he's going a 100 mph all the time and seldom has time to do this sort of thing. Jay, thanks for the response. I realize now that I left out that I'm not looking for something for nothing. I'm more than willing and happy to pay for the information. I just can't justify buying a base subscription to a service and then eating the cost of the additional modules for everything I may or may not need. The ability to review the actual product wasn't available and I don't need a program for doing estimates, dealing with insurance companies or the different state reporting requirements. I've asked two local shops as you've suggested. One was a chain shop that said they can't help me and the other was a family business that gave me a list of reasons why they wouldn't help. Both were irritated that I asked but as you said, they are busy places. River1 |

Yep its going to be hard as a lot of people just don't like helping people much. I'd keep searching autobody shops unless someone here might have it. you might try and see if you could talk directly to the frame man at one of the shops. the front desk might put a stop to it though.

I always just Buy a factory set of manuals if I am going to get deep into a certain car project.
Here is a full set from Ford. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1999-Ford-F150 ... XQgoBRfzfV There not cheap BUT you get what you pay for. There are alternatives but lots more $$$ member ships and monthly fees, and if your not running a shop its cost prohibitive. Dennis B.

Thanks Jay but I tried the index first and there's nothing there. I also posted my question in the Pro sub-forum but it was moved to Body and Paint while waiting for my first post to be approved. I thought the "Pros" would likely have more experience with information sources. There the one's that probably see the bulk of the advertisements for shops. River1 |

Doright, I have the complete set of manuals for the truck. I also have the complete Ford VCM scanner with IDS and the frame information isn't available online from Ford either. That doesn't mean Ford doesn't have the info available online, it just not available through the data link connection. At least not that I can find. River1 |
