Those el'cheapo water driers get saturated FAST!
We are probably looking at a Contamination issue as well as Spray technique AND air pressure issues as Probable cause for Alien tracks.

Invest in Water trap and water drier air filters quality not cheap junk.
Replace all air hoses as well as they are now contaminated.

between base and clear, what did you clean the gun with?
whether this is the compressors first run or youve had it for a while, im willing to say ya also have a moisture problem. crack the drain and see if ANYTHING comes out.

yup-theres a crapton of info,a lot of misinfo, and missingoutinfo(not giving enough detail from start to finish) out there. its best to find one source and run with it.
read up here- these guys havent steered me wrong

In between base and clear I clean the gun with paint thinner and spray some carb cleaner Make sure everything is clean.

DON'T use the CARB CLEANER the thinner or reducer is good enough. you for sure don't need mismatched chemicals to add to the problem.

This is excellent advice. I have a couple of hoses that got water in them when painting during high humidity. They've been relegated to use outside the booth now - once contaminated you can never get them clean enough to use for painting again. Annoying and expensive - one is a special no-kink, lay flat hose that cost a bomb.

ill sound like an **** but it says right on the can:"CARB CLEANER." that is NOT meant to be used to clean a gun nor have i ever read or heard it to be used by the experienced painters.
are you using paint thinner or lacquer thinner? paint thinner=mineral spirits= NO!
even then not all lacquer thinners are good. some are recycled

Guys we are all over the map here as NFT5 said. It is obvious this poster is in need of very simplistic guidance seeing that he has done about everything wrong a newbie can do.

We are answering questions about dust in clear coat and finding out that his air is full of water, he is cleaning his gun with the wrong solvents, has no filtration set up or water trap, etc., etc.

Therefore I am withdrawing from this thread to help end the confusion.

heyhi needs only one mentor at this point and step by step instructions beginning from the very beginning.

I have watched many of My friend Pete videos I like the guy over all.
I cannot believe I have ever seen him use advocate the use of carb cleaner though and I would strongly advise against it not to mention that stuff is stupid expensive as compared to Laq thinner.

In a Pinch OMG im out of Laq Thinner type situation sure why not to keep some thing from kicking in my gun sure why not anything to get the gun cleaned, I can always clean it again after I get some Laq thinner.

My Friend Pete just like many of us Has learned many thing over the years and we all make mistakes. I have seen him bad mouth good products, advocate Bad products, and flat out give out bad advise and be flat out wrong on how to do sheet metal repairs or Rust correction.
Their is always more ways than one to do ANYTHING! some good, some bad, some OMG! Staying up to date on current trends & processes is sometimes hard to do.

I have seen a LOT of you tube videos I have way over 30 years experience playing with cars plains Jets motorcycles race cars race boats Go carts Sand rails quads 4x4 rock crawlers etc and I can tell you for a FACT there are way more HACKS on you tube that don't know squat advocating Bad techniques bad processes and flat out wrong information promoting Junk parts Junk tools and flat out Bad How too stuff.
You get what you pay for! Internet Forums are NOT exempt! BUYER BEWARE! always always do your own research!
