That's the way I understand it but I'm not a fan of matte finish anyway.

Could you not shoot say 3 coats of a gloss Euro clear and then 2 coats of matte in order to have UV protection increased and still get the finish desired?

That way when you tire of fussing with the matte, a cut and buff gives you a nice looking finish.

Now that is funny you should mention that....that is exactly what we do with furniture. We build with gloss and just do our last clear coat in the "effect" we want. I was thinking 2 coats of the gloss Euro to make sure the pearl is looking good and buried, then maybe a sand on that, and hit the matt.
And, I am vowing not to fuss with that matt. I'm going to shoot like a robot and get it right, dad gummit....... :knockout: If I can get this epoxy primer laid down this well I should be able to whip that matt into shape..... :pcorn: :pcorn: :pcorn:

So we were are pretty well finessed on our body work. I shot one additional moderately heavy coat of the high build epoxy. Had this tweeked with just a little more reducer. Look how this laid down with my turbine gun....

So we all got 4 hours in today. Truck is all wet sanded and I did one clear intercoat clear just to size up IF my black epoxy was good enough to use as my base for my intercoat/ pearl mix. I did this inner nose piece as a test with 2 of the pearl coats. We are getting good even coverage and this picture does not have any clear on it yet.... I'll take it through it's clear topcoats later tonight....

Fingers crossed, I am okay so far.... Lots of notes on mix, gun settings, etc., to make sure I am consistent. Should have color all done by the end of this week....
