My mirrors are currently chrome. How do I prep them for paint? Is it possible? I want to paint them to match the car body color.

Sand completely with 80 grit and then epoxy prime.
then sand to paint. JC.

So sand all shiny to a dull or take the chrome layer off? |
It would be great if you could sand it all off, but that usually is to difficult.
Get all the shiny off and you should be good to go. Sometimes on something like a mirror, you may be able to buy an aftermarket one that's made to be painted without spending to much. (just a thought) JC.

Thanks, yeah I looked into buying different mirrors that were paintable, and I still might do that, and keep my chrome ones nice for trading out later. |
