I'm picking up more parts in about a week or two. Once I have them, I need to put in the brake booster and pedal. I figure putting in the sound deadener and carpet and then the doors.
I'd like to get the roof mechanism blasted and powder coated but that means a total disassembly so that's on hold for now. As far as the actual top I'm going to send it out. I don't think I want to get into that. I plan on going with a Mercedes style material, not so vinyl like the original so it will have to be made.
How are you holding up over there? You must be itching to come home

UGH! I am soooo ready to come home!
Wednesday's the day though I am so looking forward to being home!

EVERYTHING that could go wrong did go wrong while I have been gone seams like.
Nothing but problems with the rental property, It will keep me busy for a while after I get home.

Too bad about all the problems. At least the end is in sight and you'll be home soon. That's way too long to be away working. I can't even vacation that long, I go nuts if I can't putter around in the shop.

I made it home last night.

Too top off every thing that went wrong in my absence It appears that a DOG (Pit Bull) in particular ATE the right front fender on my Vett! The fender is destroyed with a huge hole in it and Teeth marks. You can see its paw prints all over the ground Saliva and some blood on the ground.
Wife made a Police report when it happened, But The cop wouldn't even say what he thought did it and asked if I had some one that would do this to my car????.

The hood has deep scratches as does the headlight assembly, The scratches in the front bumper are not that deep but whole thing is going to require Paint.

I am more than a little Perturbed about all of this! I checked on line a new fender is in $600 range hood $1200 Headlight bucket 600+ used plus paint and labor.
Ya I can save the Hood and Headlight bucket with filler But should I have too?
Admittedly the Paint wasn't the greatest and the car needed a complete to be perfect but it was good enough for me for a long time.

I am gonna get the police report amended today and get a hold of Animal control as we know were the Dogs live. Then I am gonna have to take the owners to court.

I have seen the Dogs before in question, and My wife saw them the day it happened.

That's totally weird, what would possess a dog to chew on a fender.
Is the Vette insured or not on the road. What a pain.
Well at least you're home to start dealing with all the issues.
I'm taking a short break from the Stang to build a new welding cart.

The Dogs were after Wife's Cats under car. They did lounge after her but she closed the gate at drive way to keep them out and came in the house, Not thinking any more about it.
It was later that she discovered the car but did not think it was a dog that ate it.

When those Pit Bulls get focused in on killing something, they are totally out of control.
A former neighbor of mind stood there screaming and hitting her Pit Bull with a stick as it killed her goat right in front of her.
I told my wife right then, if that dog comes anywhere near me or wanders on to our property it will get a 180 grain death warrant.

I'll bet the cat was hiding up in there someplace. They knew it was there and tore into the car to get to it.

Maybe call your insurance agent and tell them what happened. Let them go after the neighbors if they choose.
