Guys,
Recommendations please for a newby.
I have a 15ft x 8ft room with a door only (no windows) as its part of the house which is brick.
Whats the best way to ventilate since I have no window for fresh air intake as the door would have to exhaust the fumes, I'm only painting motorcycle fairing parts but some pieces can be large and need to be hung to paint.
Also thought about a large table top booth but not sure how to control the dust.
Any suggestions would help.
Thanks
Sam

Sam, welcome..... Well, I mean this is your choice and everything but there is just no way you should be doing shooting in an attached garage. If you own the home it violates your home owners insurance. If you are renting and a landlord finds out....you can be sued. Beyond that there is the isocyanate contamination and just generally all of the smell that is going to permeate the house. And, yes, I get it....they are only motorcycle parts but it is still a big enough contamination problem. Automotive paints can be very dangerous if not properly handled......

No guys, should have been more clear.
This is small garage detached from my house that holds pool pump & filter equipment. Not sure why it was built with no windows. Thanks for the safety warnings though. Sam |
Okay, detached utility type shed....better. So here's what has to happen.... if you pull or push air into a room/building you must exhaust it. Preferably air comes in one end or side and exits the other end or side. You could make the door that opens into a portable filter wall then build out a place for a fan on the opposite wall. Since you are doing smaller parts a good explosion proof self contained fan/motor combo unit would require maybe just a 12 to 15 inch hole through the wall. I like the kind that have their own self closing shutter on the outside.

Do a Search for Homemade Paint Booth and you will find a ton of information.
Personally, I prefer to pump fresh air into the room at one end and let it exit at the other. 1968 Coronet R/T
