I would just play with the exhaust pipes.
I would not play with the Cross member or transmission they are were they belong. After market Pipes are the problem. Cut weld splice its exhaust.

The crossmember and trans will go back where they belong. Dropping it down would just give me a chance to bolt them together properly. The question is will I be able to pull down on the H-pipe after since it will most likely be pushing hard on the floor pan. Might be easier to just cut it and weld it. It's supposedly made for this car but sure doesn't fit that way.

I cut a 1/4" pie out of it and welded back up. That got the alignment where I needed it. Next problem was by stretching the H-pipe a good 1/2" it needed to line up side to side the other end came in and now the next section of pipe is right on the driveshaft. I'm reasonably sure I can pull it away far enough and tack weld it in place on a slight angle. Had to move a brake line over as the muffler was right on it.
It's all in except I need to get the exhaust tips. Don't know why they don't come with? It's a 14" bent pipe with trumpet tip so not something you can just get at your local parts store. Once I have those I can clamp and tack weld it all together.

Finished the exhaust and a few more things. Need to pick up the vert frame from the blaster and paint it. Started on fixing the dings and scratches in the stainless windshield trim. Getting closer but have to do a bunch of yard work while the weather is decent.
Need to put another steering column in my old Dodge Ram, ignition is shot, can't even start it. I have a replacement column so just have to find time to do it

That is an interesting read.

I'm making some progress. Fixed the dings in the stainless trim and polished it. Quite a bit of work but came out pretty good. I have a bad flair on a brake line to deal with. Going to try and start it this week

I got the clutch fixed new master cylinder was gonna do the Slave too But the previous owner installed some Micky mouse slave cylinder assembly with a weird bracket assembly and sawed off part of the Bell housing installing it, going back to original is impossible without a new Bell housing. It works any way it was just a Bad master cylinder. Just somthing else I will need to fix when I disassemble it for painting.

Installed new pads in the Swamp cooler and installed another new water pump its back up and working again.

Got a few other small problems fixed around the shop as well, still need to get started on fixing my Ford and then go rescue the Father in laws Van In New Mexico were it broke down, Its in a storage lot right now.

Rescued the Van
That was a Nightmare! Dam thing came off my Tow Dolley destroying the tow Dolley fender and Tire and the Rocker panel on the van.. I have no idea how it came undone all we did was stop for gas and turned kinda sharp at gas station and Boom it shoots out over the trailer towards the truck pulling it.with the drivers door rocker panel supported by the Trailers fender or what was left of it.

Took me about 45 min to get the dam thing back on the trailer correctly should have took pics it was uglee but I was in panic mode to get out of their and back home.
